Job Summary

We are looking for a Data Engineer who will lead data strategy at Decent. This role will work with various product and development teams to ensure data integrity and quality, build data models, pipelines, and backups.

You have a passion for data and data management and works well across teams to help to shape the way that Decent engages with data engineering. You really enjoy building solutions, writing code, running code, and working with complex data systems.

You will report to the Engineering Manager.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Work with our engineering manager to create the strategy of data management within an established information architecture that supports the development and secure operation of our information and digital services.
  • Ensure data integrity between platforms and products here at Decent
  • Establish technical requirements and implementation details for data solutions
  • Develop and improve performant databases, data models, integrations and ETL pipelines
  • Work with product managers to establish and measure success of Decent products
  • Become a subject matter expert for your data domain and help teams across the company to access and understand your data

What We’re Looking For

  • 1+ years of experience with Salesforce
  • 3+ years of experience building and maintaining production data pipelines, databases or web applications
  • 2+ years experience with cloud development and technologies with a focus on Google Cloud technologies, AWS or Azure knowledge are helpful
  • Strong SQL skills and proficient in at least one programming language (Java or Python)
  • Experience building ETLs against various sources, including REST endpoints
  • Knowledgeable about data architecture, data warehousing, and ETL design patterns
  • Able to identify and develop data solutions for ever changing product requirements
  • Prioritize across multiple stakeholders and communicate your plans effectively
